Are your volume settings adjusted to an audible level?

Your volume might be set too low, or audio might be muted.
To check your volume settings
  1. Open Volume Control.
  2. Make sure that Mute all is not selected, and adjust the volume and balance controls to the levels you prefer.
  3. The controls in Volume Control are different for different sound devices. If any Mute check boxes except microphone input are checked, this might be the cause of your problem. Consult your sound device documentation or contact the manufacturer for more information.

  • To open Volume Control from the Start, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to Entertainment, and then click Volume Control.
